[edit] Game Manual

This page is here to help with describing how to install, run and get around within DungeonHack. While the game is in development this information is subject to change and may not be exactly correct. But, it should give a good idea on how get around.

[edit] Installation

1.) Download the game.

5/8/07 version. 120MB. For the instructions in this tutorial we will save it to the Windows Desktop.

2.) Get an unrarring program. DungeonHack is compressed due to its filesize in a .rar format, to extract the files you need a program that will recognize and deal with the format. There are various programs on the internet such as iZarc (Freeware), 7Zip (OpenSource), and WinRAR (Commercial).

3.) Extracting the files.

Once you have DungeonHack downloaded, it will be on your deskop looking generally like the above picture.

A.) Double click on the above icon. It will launch a window that will look like below.

Copy as on the picture and click click on the folder and select 'Extract to specific folder'.

B.) A window will appear, do not change any of the settings. However on the right there is a file list. Copy as it is in the picture below. Then click Okay.

Afterwords you should see the below dialogue box appear, it may take some time for DungeonHack to extract itself to your desktop.

C.) There should be a folder called 'DungeonHack' on your desktop, as pictured below. Double click it to launch the folder.

Within it you should see as pictured below, double click on the 'Release' folder to get to where the program executable is.

Within the /Release/ folder you will find an executable called 'DungeonHack.exe', double click on this.

D.) A window should appear as pictured below, here you may choose your settings. Either OpenGL or DirectX. Depending on your computer, these will affect your performance differently.

When you are finished selecting your options, press the 'ok' button and the game will launch itself. Have fun, adventuring in DungeonHack!
